Trincomalee conference with UNICEF, DMC, and CDF!

On Wed 18 Sep 2019, we had an interactive discussion with UNICEF, DMC, and CDF at Trincomalee District Secretariat regarding the progress of our work for developing a database and a website to implement the Child-Centered Disaster Risk Reduction (CC-DRR) mechanisms in the districts of Ampara, Batticaloa, and Trincomalee.

This initiative is funded by UNICEF and implemented in partnership with the relevant district secretariats in closely with the Disaster Management Centers (DMCs), district CRPOs, and educational authorities for promoting the CC-DRR and child-centered climate change adaptation in the country, and for supporting the Government of Sri Lanka in implementing the SAARC Framework and Road Map for the CC-DRR (2015).

During the discussion, a brief demonstration was done powered by PowerPoint presentation, and the UNICEF and the partners are highly pleased and satisfied with our progress. Hence, we are so encouraged and determined to complete the work within the stipulated time fulfilling their expectations.
